What is domain parking?
Domain parking is a special way of internet advertisements. The idea is to advertise on domains which have a certain amount of visitor traffic without having content of its own. The three most common examples for successful domain parking:
- a domain name is often typed in, due to a generic or popular word
- a domain name is often typed in, due to a misspelling of a popular domain
- a web service is no longer available but the site is still getting visitors from links
Historically the ads are delivered by a specialised broker for domain parking ads. Recently Google opened their domain ads program AdSense for domains for all webmasters, starting with Americans.
